Privacy Policy

The short version

Milkglass keeps your photos, videos, and files on your iPhone or iPad. We run no server for the app. We have no accounts. We cannot see what you keep, your patterns, or your recovery words. The app has no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.

What the app keeps, and where

• Your content. Photos, videos, files, their names, folder names, and thumbnails are encrypted and kept on your device. With iCloud backup on, an encrypted copy goes to your own iCloud. Sharing sends the item you select to the app or person you choose.
• Your pattern and recovery words. The app does not store them in a form we could read. We never receive them. If you lose both, nobody can open the Drawer, and we cannot help.
• Settings. Your choice of look is kept on your device.

We receive none of this.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, identifiers, usage data, or diagnostics from the app. The app contains no advertising or analytics software.

Permissions

• Camera and microphone: used only when you take a photo or record a video into a Drawer.
• Photos: you choose items in the system's picker. The app receives only what you choose.

Purchases

Milkglass Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment and holds your purchase history under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your name, your Apple Account, or your payment details. The app checks on your device whether Pro is active.

Sharing and export

When you tap Share, the item you chose goes to the app or person you pick, as the original file. That is your action; we receive nothing. You can take any item out of a Drawer this way at any time, with or without Pro.

This website

The website milkglass.app is apart from the app. The app sends it nothing. The app opens this page or the Terms of Use in the browser only when you select one of them.

• The website has no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no forms, and no scripts. Its pages load nothing from another company's servers.
• Cloudflare serves the website. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the details of the request to deliver the page, stop abuse, and fix problems. Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area. It does so under the safeguards that European law requires.

Support email

If you write to hello@milkglass.app, we receive your email address and what you write. We use them only to answer you. Do not send your pattern or your recovery words; we never ask for them. A person reads every message.

iCloud backup

The Backup is on by default in each Drawer, in Free and Pro. The app encrypts records before sending them to your own iCloud private database. We hold no key and cannot read that database. iCloud Keychain can bring the secret needed to open the Backup to your other devices.

You can turn off a Drawer's Backup and choose whether to keep or delete its existing copy in iCloud. A new iPhone asks before restoring the Drawer and becoming the device that backs it up. Only one device writes that Backup at a time. V1 does not sync changes between devices.

What other people can learn

Milkglass does not hide that it is installed or how much storage it uses. A person with your unlocked device and its passcode can try patterns. The app limits how fast patterns can be tried.

Keeping and deleting

Your content stays until you delete it. Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days and are then removed. Deleting the app removes its content from the device; it does not delete a Backup kept in your iCloud. To delete that Backup, use the switch inside the Drawer or Apple’s iCloud storage settings. We hold no copy to delete or hand over.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data from the app, we have nothing to give access to, correct, or erase.

For the website and for support email, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it is used. Write to hello@milkglass.app. If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us and we will put it right. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP), or to the authority in your own country.
